Creating Free Deal Listings ($0 Products)

Learn how to create free product funnels for lead generation and upselling

What Are Free Deal Listings?

Free deal listings allow you to offer products at $0 to capture buyer information without requiring payment. This is perfect for:

  • Lead Magnets: Free ebooks, templates, checklists, or guides
  • Free Trials: Give access to your service for free before upselling
  • Tripwire Funnels: Start with free product, then offer paid upsells
  • Content Upgrades: Offer free bonuses to build your email list
  • 100% Off Promotions: Limited-time free access to paid products

  4. Share the coupon code

Buyers who apply this coupon get the product for free

What Happens When a Buyer Claims a Free Product?

The Free Checkout Flow:

  1. Buyer clicks your CTA button

They see "FREE" displayed instead of a price

  2. Checkout modal opens

Buyer enters name and email only (no credit card required)

  3. Instant confirmation

No payment processing - immediate access granted

  4. Delivery instructions shown

    Based on your delivery configuration

  5. ESP/Webhook integration fires

Buyer is added to your email list automatically

  6. Upsell funnel begins (if configured)

Buyer is redirected to your first upsell offer

Best Practices for Free Product Funnels

1. Always Include Upsells

The free product is your "foot in the door". Configure paid upsells to monetize the traffic. Many buyers who claim free products will purchase upsells.

2. Deliver Real Value

Don't just create a throwaway freebie. Provide genuine value to build trust for future offers.

3. Configure ESP Integration

Make sure you're capturing these leads in your email service provider so you can follow up with email marketing.

4. Use Scarcity & Urgency

Even though it's free, create urgency with countdown timers and limited availability messaging.

5. Clear Delivery Instructions

Make it crystal clear how buyers will access the free product immediately after claiming it.

Important Notes

No Platform Fee on Free Products

Since there's no sale amount, there's no platform fee charged on free product claims.

Affiliate Commissions

Affiliates don't earn commission on free products, but they do earn on any upsells the buyer purchases.

Order Tracking

Free product claims still appear in your Orders dashboard for tracking and follow-up.
