How to Connect Your ESP

Step 1: Get Your API Credentials

Each ESP has its own process for generating API keys. Here's where to find them:

Mailchimp

Account → Extras → API Keys → Create A Key

ConvertKit

Settings → Advanced → API Keys & Webhooks

MailerLite

Settings → Integrations → Developer API

Step 2: Configure in DrivenCart

Go to Dashboard → Integrations
Find your ESP in the list
Enter your API key/credentials
Click "Test Connection" to verify
Click "Save" when connection is successful

Step 3: Configure Per Deal

For each deal, you can specify which list/tag to use:

Edit your deal
Go to the "Integrations" tab
Enable your ESP integration
Enter the List ID (required)
Enter Tags (optional, comma-separated)
Save your deal

Finding Your List/Form IDs

Mailchimp List ID

Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults → Audience ID (copy this 10-character code)

ConvertKit Form ID

Forms → Select your form → Look at the URL: .../forms/[FORM_ID]/edit

MailerLite Group ID

Subscribers → Groups → Select group → Look at the URL: .../subscribers/groups/[GROUP_ID]

Tagging & Segmentation

Tags help you segment your audience for targeted email campaigns:

Product-specific tags: "Purchased-Course-A", "Claimed-Free-Ebook"
Source tags: "Facebook-Ad", "Email-Campaign"
Behavior tags: "High-Value-Customer", "Repeat-Buyer"

Use different tags for different products to send targeted follow-up sequences.

Troubleshooting

Connection Test Failed

Double-check your API key and make sure it has the correct permissions. Some ESPs require you to enable API access in settings.

Subscribers Not Being Added

Verify that the List/Form ID is correct. Make sure the ESP integration is enabled for the specific deal.

Tags Not Applying

Some ESPs require tags to be created in advance. Check your ESP dashboard and create the tags before using them.
